ICT (Information and communication technology) and Energy:
join forces to create a perfect 'electronomy'
To really have an electronic economy, the ICT and Energy industry should focus on how to collaborate best. The ICT industry could take care of expanding a world wide fiber network. Moreover they should make using electronic energy for the car industry as simple as possible: less interfaces and less hassle to benefit the consumer. The energy industry on the other hand, could invest in how demand and supply could be attuned best.
Despite the new economic reality, all industries should take their responsibility and stimulate eachother to join forces on this. If we would really take advantage of the electronomy we should start now with building a vast (fiber) infrastructure. Services will follow, like in all other network, see ADSL, mobile etc.
Commentaire de Jean Binette, Dunham, Québec:
Electronomy is definitely the major hope for economical recovery and cleaner planet. I believe the energy shift we need from fossil to clean energy and will require not only a close collaboration between the ICT and Energy industries but a major help from all the governments (Asian, European and North-American especially). Without that push, the free market will not be able to accomplish the necessary paradigm shift needed to successfully implement smart networks in the energy field. That help from the government might be for a fairly short period, enough for the free market to really believe it should be done.
